Interim Graduate Program Directors Announced

The UW School of Nursing announces the selection of the interim graduate program directors: Fran Lewis RN, MN, PhD, FAAN, as PhD Program Director and Jen Sonney PhD, ARNP, PPCNP-BC, FAANP, as DNP/Master’s Program Director.  Their appointments will run from May 16, 2022, through June 30, 2023, to cover the vacancy created by the appointment of Tatiana Sadak, PhD, PMHNP, RN, FAAN, as Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

Lewis is the UW Medical Center Endowed Professor in Nursing. She is an internationally renowned researcher who applies rigorous scientific methods for a compassionate purpose: improving the well-being of patients, caregivers, and dependent children. Dr. Lewis is completing a term as a PhDCC chair and brings extensive expertise in PhD education and student support.

Sonney is an Assistant Professor whose research focuses on improving the health of children with chronic conditions, with a particular emphasis on children with asthma. As a nationally recognized clinician-leader, she currently serves as the president-elect of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Sonney is co-leading the UW SoN DNP program improvement efforts and brings expertise in accreditation and clinical education.

The graduate program positions oversee the administration of the nursing school’s various graduate programs at the Seattle campus.
