University of Washington Ranked #1 Among Public Nursing Schools

The UW School of Nursing has again been named America’s leading educator of nurses among public colleges and universities that offer graduate programs by US News & World Report. The school was ranked #1 among public institutions with Doctor of Nursing Practice programs (tied for #2 overall) and #1 among public schools with master’s degree programs (#5 overall and specific to UW Bothell and UW Tacoma).

“We are particularly proud of having sustained our position in the top tier of nursing schools over many years,” said Azita Emami, Executive Dean, UW School of Nursing. “This speaks to the consistency of our efforts, the strength of our faculty, and the sustained emphasis on excellence to which faculty and students, supported by staff, have contributed.”

In addition to the overall #1 ranking among public universities, the pediatric acute care DNP program was ranked #5 and the family nurse practitioner DNP program was ranked #10.

This year USN&WR ranked more than 160 schools with DNP programs and more than 200 schools with master’s programs. Both the master’s and DNP rankings are based on a weighted average of 14 indicators.
