  • The Seattle Children’s PICU team was awarded Seattle Children’s Preceptor of the Quarter for APPs. Among the providers awarded are two School of Nursing faculty, Lena Oliveros and Amy Howells, and alumni John Lee.
  • Mariana Alvina dos Santos, professor at Federal University of Mato Gross do Sula and a previous UW School of Nursing visiting scholar from Brazil, presented her exciting work, “Men’s health assessment: Sleep quality, sexual function and quality of life” at the UW School of Nursing on February 13th (pictured on the left).

Faculty Accomplishments

  • Molly Altman, assistant professor, Monica McLemore, professor and interim director of the Center for Anti-Racism in Nursing, and Meghan Eagen-Torkko, UW Bothell’s director of nursing, are quoted in a recent Seattle Times article, “New UW program aims to expand training for abortion providers”.

Student Accomplishments

  • Jerusha Mogaka, PhD student, received a New Investigator Scholarship to attend the 2023 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections.
  • Kimberly Henriquez, DNP student, was selected as a recipient of the Latino Center for Health’s 2023 Graduate Student Scholars Fellowship.

Post-doctoral Scholar Accomplishments

  • Post-doctoral scholar Samantha Winders was quoted in a Medpage Today article, “IBD Interferes With Sleep Quality”.
