Dr. Monica McLemore: Standing Committee on Reproductive Health, Equity, and Society; Dr. Mayumi Willgerodt: Promoting Learning and Development In K-12 Out Of School Time Settings For Low Income and Marginalized Children and YouthProfessor Mayumi Willgerodt was appointed to the National Academies of Science Engineering and Medicine committee on “Promoting Learning and Development In K-12 Out Of School Time Settings For Low Income and Marginalized Children and Youth.” 

Professor Monica McLemore was appointed to the National Academies of Science Engineering and Medicine committee on “Standing Committee on Reproductive Health, Equity, and Society”.

Professor Cynthia Dougherty was elected the 2023-2024 Faculty Senate Chair for the UW-Seattle, Bothell, Tacoma, and received an NIH grant titled, “Biobehavioral intervention to prevent PTSD after an ICD shock.” along with UW School of Nursing Professor Emeritus Elaine Thompson, and other collaborators.

Professor Sarah Gimbel received funding for “Systems Analysis and Improvement Approach to Optimize the Delivery of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Care and Prevention (SAIA-T2D)” from the John L. Locke Jr. Charitable Trust.

Students

PhD student Linda Yoo is the Principal Investigator on the recent National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant, “Sleep-Wake Cycles of Individuals with Inflammatory Bowel Disease” with Dr. Margaret Heitkemper as the sponsor, and Dr. Kendra Kamp as the co-sponsor. “The findings from this project will assist in developing future interventions that improve IBD health outcomes,” Yoo said about the grant.
