The de Tornyay Center, Dean’s office, BNHI, and Office of Nursing Research were pleased to host Dr. Kate Lorig on February 6. Dr. Lorig is well known for her research with and dissemination of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. She spoke to DNP students, presented at a brown bag, and offered one-on-one consultations for faculty and post-docs.

The American Public Health Association Public Health Nurse Section (APHA PHN) nominated Doris Boutain and research team to be profiled as part of the national Public Health Nursing Research Campaign. The feature will highlight community-based participatory research and working with multilingual and multicultural community-based organizations. This recognition is from the Research Committee of the section and will focus on the research team below, which includes three nursing PhD scholars here at the University of Washington School of Nursing. The team below will represent public health nursing research in the West, only four people or teams will be featured nationally.
