Megan Streur PhD, RN, FNP-C
My program of research is focused on understanding the biological and behavioral mechanisms underlying inter- and intra-individual variability in symptoms and patient centered outcomes in adults with cardiovascular disease, with a primary focus on atrial fibrillation. Prior to pursing a research career, I practiced as a nurse practitioner for the Vanderbilt Heart Center for Atrial Fibrillation and as a registered nurse in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at Southwest Washington Medical Center. I currently maintain part-time practice as a nurse practitioner working with cardiovascular patients and their families. My clinical experiences are the source of my passion and commitment to educate future nurses, nurse practitioners, and healthcare leaders and to conduct high quality clinical research that will help improve quality of life for adults with cardiovascular disease.
