Making space for community in the year ahead
Coffee and Community with Dean Thompson will offer faculty, staff and students opportunities to connect throughout the 2026–27 academic year.
Our community is at its best when faculty, staff, and students have opportunities to come together, build relationships, and learn from one another. Beginning this fall, the UW School of Nursing is creating intentional space for community by hosting Coffee and Community with Dean Thompson, an informal conversation on select mornings throughout the 2026–27 academic year.
The gatherings will take place from 7:30 to 8:20 a.m. in T-332, before classes, meetings, clinicals and other responsibilities pull members of our community in different directions. The goal is not to add another formal meeting to the calendar, but to create room for conversation, perspective-sharing, and relationship-building.
Whether you come with an idea you want to share, a question you have been considering or simply a desire to spend time in community, we hope you will join us.
