Biobehavioral Nursing & Health Informatics
I grew up in a rural town in the Mid-Atlantic, and went to college at University of Vermont. It was during my undergraduate program that I was fortunate enough to travel abroad and volunteer. After college I spent time working abroad as a nurse for several years. My passion for travel and the amazing people I have met on my journeys have given me the invaluable experiences of learning about how health and mental health is culturally and socially impacted. I am keenly aware of how an individual’s culture and background can influence how they cope with and understand difficult situations and mental illness.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner I have worked in a variety of settings including primary care, psychiatric emergency services and private practice.
I enjoy working with students and bringing relevant clinical knowledge into the classroom.
I am lucky enough to call the Pacific Northwest home. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, hiking and running.
