Anne Kalkbrenner MN, RN

Lecturer

I received my BSN from Baylor University and my MN from the University of Washington. I have worked in a variety of pediatric settings and children’s hospitals around the country and internationally, both as a pediatric nurse and as a pediatric nurse practitioner. These practice settings have included acute care (liver transplant), home care, primary care and nursing professional development.

What classes do you teach?

NURS 415, NCLIN 411

What do you love about the UW School of Nursing?

My teaching focus is with nursing students in their undergraduate pediatric experiences. I teach the childrearing portion of NURS 415: Care of the Family: Childbearing and Childrearing. I am the clinical supervisor for the pediatric section of NCLIN 411: Transition the Professional Role. The unfolding growth and development process in children is what I love most about pediatrics. Supporting this same dynamic, as nursing students transition to their professional RN role, is what keeps engaged and fulfilled as a nurse educator.
