Jerusha N. Mogaka, RN, MPH, PhD, is a nurse-scientist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics at the University of Washington (UW). Dr. Mogaka’s research focuses on advancing prevention and treatment of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, particularly among pregnant and postpartum cisgender women, and the intersection between infections and cardiometabolic health among women. Her research employs diverse methodologies, including randomized clinical trials (RCTs), prospective cohort studies, qualitative evaluations and implementation science evaluations. Since 2014, Dr. Mogaka has actively participated in collaborative research projects with UW and Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, cultivating her interest in global health, implementation science research while advancing her scientific career and leadership roles.
