Kelly Schorling Brewer
Biobehavioral Nursing & Health Informatics
I have over 20 years of nursing experience in both med-surg and mental health settings, with much of my work centered on caring for patients experiencing homelessness and substance use disorders. As a PMHNP, I am currently working in private practice and as an Assistant Teaching Professor at UWSON, teaching across both undergraduate and graduate programs. I’m deeply committed to high-quality patient care and to reducing stigma surrounding mental health and substance use treatment. My clinical interests include complex trauma, substance use disorders, and the emerging role of plant medicines in mental health care. I recently earned a certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and Research and am seeking funding for research projects aimed at improving safety for naturalistic users of psilocybin.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family, cooking, baking, kettlebells, and traveling.
