I am a leading scholar in antiracist birth equity research, community-informed methods, and policy translation. My journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from The College of New Jersey in 1993, inspired by a childhood aspiration to become a nurse. I later earned a Master’s in Public Health from San Francisco State University and a PhD in Oncology Genomics from the University of California, San Francisco.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to reproductive health, rights, and justice. After 28 years in active clinical practice, I retired upon receiving tenure in 2019. My expertise lies in conducting rigorous research and disseminating findings, and my work has been widely cited. My writings and research strategies are designed to advance reproductive justice for all, contributing to the development and testing of effective interventions.
