Seth Wolpin

My research interests largely center around how we can use information technology to improve health outcomes, particularly with respect to primary prevention techniques for populations facing an disparate burden of morbidity and mortality. My graduate training is in public health - specifically health information systems where I focused on human centered design approaches and data warehouse work.  

I've led, and supported, multiple NIH funded research projects at UW since 2004 with funding areas centered on patient reported outcomes, health literacy, and medication adherence. 

I have been a member of the Clinical Informatics and Patient Centered Technologies (CIPCT) program since its inception and have taught several of the courses over the years, served as curriculum chair, and mentored numerous students and/or served on committees.  I currently teach NMETH 526 'Clinical Informatics and Patient Centered Technologies'. I also help coordinate NCLIN 475 'Interprofessional Education'. 

Within the University of Washington Medical Center, I am an affiliate developer with the data warehouse and help projects by building data pipelines and as an honest broker.

I am currently appointed as a non-salaried clinical professor and my work is focused while at UW only on funded projects or classes. The majority of my work now takes place outside of the University of Washington where I consult on healthcare data issues, design and fabrication of soft-goods in the marine trades, and strive towards a healthy work-life balance.  I live in Anacortes, WA.
