Professor, Child, Family, and Population Health Nursing
As a member of the school’s executive leadership team and an associate professor in the Department of Psychosocial and Community Health Nursing, I am actively engaged in both academic and clinical settings. Clinically, I provide care to homeless families and adolescents as a family nurse practitioner.
My leadership experience includes spearheading statewide programs to enhance educational access through online initiatives. I co-chaired a design team that developed a master plan for nursing education in Washington and led a sub-committee of the Washington Nursing Action Coalition to implement these recommendations. I was recently appointed by Governor Jay Inslee to the coordinating committee responsible for establishing core performance measures for healthcare, making me the only educator or nurse practitioner on this influential policy-setting committee.
Additionally, I serve on the Western Governors University Nursing Advisory Board. My academic leadership roles have also contributed to the establishment of a Ph.D. program at Washington State University (WSU) and two Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs at WSU and the University of Washington.
