What an extraordinary 2019-2020

Greetings UW School of Nursing Community:

This was an extraordinary year for the School of Nursing, the University of Washington, and the world.

The faculty, students, and staff of the School of Nursing did a remarkable job of responding to the countless challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. And you came together as a community to call attention to institutional racism and join us on a path toward justice, equity, and civility.

I invite you to join me in looking at the many accomplishments of the last academic year. On every page, you will find descriptions of the many exceptional responses to the challenges, and the many academic and research achievements made in spite of COVID-19. It was business as usual and business as unusual, all in one academic year.

I am proud of the way in which we carried out our missions of education, research, and community service and forged ahead in seeking diversity, equity, and inclusion. This reaffirmed why we were named by US News & World Report as the #1 public university nursing school offering a DNP program—another notable 2019-2020 accomplishment.

Thank you for being part of the UW School of Nursing community.
