Construction is underway on the new UW School of Nursing Simulation Center! Your gift during this virtual baby shower will help us purchase obstetrics and neonatal equipment – including a virtual baby – for the new center.

This equipment is essential in helping undergraduate and Doctor of Nursing Practice students in our nurse-midwifery and pediatric nurse practitioner tracks learn to provide the highest quality, evidence-based care to infants and pregnant women in Washington and around the world. It allows students to learn in real-world settings, such as birthing centers, clinics, hospitals and homes.

Sim Baby is a lifelike baby mannequin developed in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Students will learn how to examine newborns and provide life-saving resuscitation.
