Seattle Times OpEdCommunity impact

The Center for Innovation in Sleep Self-Management works with local, regional and national researchers and institutions to conduct and implement research aimed at improving sleep for children and adults.

In November 2015, the Seattle School District voted to delay school start times for high-school students thanks to the advocacy and research of sleep researchers around the city. Center co-director Teresa Ward served on the research committee that helped compel the decision. She also co-penned an editorial in favor of delaying school start times for the Seattle Times.
