Network of Doctoral Students (NeDS)

NeDS was founded to meet the specific interests of doctoral (DNP and PhD) students, and now also welcomes Masters students in the School of Nursing. The purpose of NeDS is to promote collaborative, supportive relationships and resource sharing opportunities among graduate students in the University of Washington, School of Nursing. It is the intent of the organization to:

  • Facilitate social, educational, and professional development opportunities regarding topics of mutual interest
  • Provide a venue for the exploration and discussion of how doctoral students in nursing will work together
  • Provide a forum to examine the social and political implications of nursing research and practice

Over 120 elected or appointed students represent each of the graduate and professional degree granting schools, departments, and programs. GPSS represents students to the UW administration and state and federal governments and puts on regular social events. We currently need more SoN senators.
