Dr. Delaney is a skillful navigator of both the micro-world and the macro-world of healthcare and is widely sought for consultation about advanced practice nursing education, meeting healthcare reform challenges, and integrated healthcare. She is an engaging speaker who will share her expertise about the future of healthcare and DNP education.
Dr. Delaney writes a regular column for the Archives of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and was recently named editor of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and past president of the International Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses. The major foci of her scholarship includes promoting and assessing competence in NP education – including with distant students, matching advanced practice education to emerging workforce needs, capitalizing on the potential of advanced practice nurses in response to healthcare reform, employing prevention and recovery paradigms in advanced practice, and reflecting on the nature of practice.
