Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS)

The Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS) track within the Doctor of Nursing Practice program prepares PCNSs to serve as expert clinicians for patients from birth to young adulthood.  Completion of this track allows graduates to take the ANCC Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pediatrics board certification exam.

This program is offered full-time.  It is structured for students to attend classes on campus.  Distance access is available for a limited number of courses.

The UW School of Nursing's graduate programs are highly ranked in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.  The graduate faculty brings expertise in teaching, research and clinical practice with children, adolescents and their families.

The focus of your education as a PCNS includes health assessment, health promotion and illness prevention.
