Drupal blog

Drupal has released a new security and bugfix update (6.23 and 6.24), and we will soon start testing the update in our development environment. After successful testing we will update our Drupal blog again with instructions for site administrators how to update their Nursing Drupal installation.

A couple of minor updates today. Two new modules were added, fillpdf and fillpdf_webform_select. They are modules that allow you to fill PDF forms with tokens supplied from CCK fields and Webforms. 

In addition, the sonsite module was updated with a small change to the default User profile page that is supplied in the Nursing build. The logout link previously was hardcoded to /logout, which works fine for sites with masking URLs, but not with those without. The logout link now properly points to the correct logout page with or without a masking URL. Any new sites deployed from here on out will have the correct link, but existing sites will need to have the link updated.

To get the fillpdf and fillpdf_webform_select modules, please do the following:

1. SSH into your server and run:
   cd ~/public_html/drupal
svn update
2. Flush caches:
   drush updatedb

In addition, to update the User profile template, please do the following:

1. Got to Site building / Panels / Dashboard
2. Click on the edit link next to the User profile template
3. Choose Content from the left-hand menu
4. Find the pane entitled Custom: User info, in the bottom left
5. Click on the small gear icon in the top right corner of the Custom: User info pane
6. Choose Edit in the drop down menu
7. If you have not previously edited this pane, replace the Body field with the following:

8. If you have previously edited this pane, you will need to load the Drupal base_path using the function base_path() and use that in your logout link. 

Maintenance Update

This update is a maintenance and security update. The following modules were updated to their latest recommended version:

• date
• devel
• diff
• filefield
• hierarchical_select
• imagefield
• imce
• jquery_ui
• vertical_tabs
• wysiwyg
• wysiwyg_spellcheck

Notably, this update includes a security update for the date module.

Upgrade Path

1. SSH into your server and change to the Drupal directory (~/public_html/drupal):
   cd public_html/drupal/
2. Update the files:
   svn update
3. Update the site and flush the caches:
   drush updatedb
4. You will be prompted run all pending updates. Choose yes by typing y into the prompt and hitting return.
5. Authors on your site may need to clear their browser caches/offline storage (localStorage and HTML 5 SQL) in order to continue using the hierarchical_select module.
