MN Program: How to Apply

Application Availability and Deadline

Applications to the Master of Nursing (MN) program are generally available from October until January.  Applications are due no later than 5:00pm PST on January 15 to begin study the following Autumn Quarter.

Minimum Requirements to Apply to the MN Program

  • We do not require the GRE for any of our graduate programs
  • An in-process or earned bachelor's degree from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the last 90 graded quarter credits
  • Completion of a 3-quarter credit basic course in descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Meeting Essential Behaviors for graduate students
  • If your native language is not English, proof of English language proficiency (including spoken English)
  • Have an active, unrestricted Washington State RN license by the time you matriculate into the MN program; if you hold an ARNP license, that must also be active and unrestricted in Washington State

Required Application Materials

  1. MN application instructions
  2. Online MN application, including the School of Nursing Graduate School Application Supplemental Form
  3. Current resume
  4. 3 letters of recommendation
  5. Responses to the admissions questions (see instructions for prompts)
  6. Completed Authorization for Background Check form
  7. Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended; foreign transcripts must include translated evaluations
  8. Copies of English competency (reading, writing, and comprehension, as well as spoken) scores, if applicable
