Transportation, including the cost of transportation (gas, bus far, ferry fees), to and from the clinical sites is your responsibility. You will likely attend clinical sites in the greater Seattle metropolitan area as well as adjacent counties. Clinical assignments are based on providing you with a variety of clinical experiences throughout the program, which sometimes requires travel time outside the Seattle area. Access to the clinical site from your local address or other needs cannot be taken into consideration when assignments are made.
Although most sites are accessible by public transportation, access to a car is desirable especially later in the program. Some clinical placements require home visits to clients and community centers; two clinical sites are located in the Poulsbo and Port Gamble area that require ferry travel and access to a car.
During clinical site orientation your instructor will discuss site parking arrangements if available; many of the metropolitan sites are easily accessed by bus. Often students within the same clinical section carpool as well.
