The UW School of Nursing has established partnerships with UWMC/Harborview Medical Centers where a student agrees to work as a registered nurse, upon graduation, at that medical center in exchange for $6,250 annually to support tuition costs.
ABSN students are not eligible to apply for the Student Loan Program.
UWMC-Harborview Medical Center Nursing Student Loan Program
A BSN student agrees to work as a Registered Nurse at UWMC or HMC upon graduation from the UW School of Nursing in exchange for $6,250 annually while a student. For every year of financial support ($6,250 annually), the student agrees to work one year as an RN at that Medical Center. The student also agrees to work (for pay) at the Medical Center for 32 hours each month while in School. Students selected upon entry to the School of Nursing work at the Medical Center during the summer between their junior and senior years as well. All BSN students are encouraged to apply!
The School of Nursing will collect applications by the May 15th deadline and forward to UWMC/Harborview Medical Center for review and selection. Selection and notification of applicants is handled by the medical centers directly without the School of Nursing.
UWMC/Harborview aim to notify all applicants of the decision during the month of July.
