Additional Specialty Events, Opportunities and Expectations

Students in the APCHSN-OEHN specialty should refer to the APCHSN portal for expectations of all APCHSN students, including (but not limited to):

  • e-portfolios
  • e-journals
  • anticipated NCLIN seminar dates

All OEHN students attend quarterly Education and Research Center (ERC) Interdisciplinary Research Seminars. Seminars typically last two hours and include presenters from a variety of ERC-affiliated disciplines. During the course of their program, OEHN students may have the opportunity to present their research at a seminar. Dates and times are announced via e-mail as each event nears.

OEHN students are encourages to engage in their professional community. A number of professional organizations extend membership discounts to students, and occasionally OEHN funding is available to offset the costs of conference attendance. Students are encouraged to discuss opportunities of interest with their faculty advisor

Throughout the year, the University of Washington offers a number of social and networking opportunities for graduate students. OEHN students are encouraged to discover and share in these opportunities.
