Are you currently a high school sophomore or junior (who will be 16 years of age by July 18, 2016) interested in learning what the nursing field is all about? Do you want to know how to get into nursing school? Apply to participate in the University of Washington School of Nursing's Nurse Camp 2016!
This FREE week-long day camp is geared toward increasing access and opportunities in nursing to high school sophomores and juniors who are at least 16 years of age by the first day of camp, are underrepresented in nursing and/or are the first in their family to go to college
UW Nurse Camp 2016 will take place from July 18 - July 22, 2016.
Please be aware this is a DAY camp; transportation and overnight accommodations are NOT provided. If you live outside the Seattle area, overnight accommodations, transportation to and from the UW Seattle campus, and meals outside of UW Nurse Camp are your responsibility.
You must be 16 years of age by the first day of UW Nurse Camp (July 18) in order to participate. There are no exceptions to this.
In camp, you will have the opportunity to:
- Shadow nurses at UWMC in various hospital units
- Get your CPR certification!
- Learn how to prepare for college and how to prepare to get into nursing school
- Have a chance to learn in the School of Nursing Learning Lab!
- Connect with nurses, students and faculty at UW, your future mentors
- Meet new friends!
How to Participate in UW Nurse Camp
The application period for 2016 UW Nurse Camp is now OPEN. Applications will be accepted through 5pm April 15, 2016.
Students will be selected based on how well they match themselves and their interests to the field of nursing. Space is limited to the 24 most qualified applicants who also meet our eligibility requirements.
