Dr. Pamela Mitchell, interim dean at the UW School of Nursing from 2012-2013, has been appointed Interim Executive Associate Dean, effective June 9, 2014.

In this new role, Dr. Mitchell will continue acting as a senior advisor to the dean, serving as her delegate as appropriate for University and school working groups, serving as a member of the Executive Team, and facilitating the continued improvement and implementation of our strategic plan.

Dr. Mitchell has been a strong leader at the University of Washington for many years. On June 12, she was celebrated for that great leadership as she received the David B. Thorud leadership award at the UW Awards of Excellence. The award recognizes exceptional abilities to lead, serve, inspire and collaborate with broad impact. We are honored that she has chosen to share that leadership with our school as Interim Executive Associate Dean.
