Katie Rose Fischer-Price, a senior in the UW School of Nursing, had only five years to get to know her dad before he died while climbing Mount Everest. His lasting gift to her, though, was motivation to find life's mountains and climb them.
Nursing is "not about IV's and stethoscopes, it's about making connections and helping," Fischer-Price said -- a viewpoint she developed while on a trip to Nepal, where her dad took his last steps.
