Marla Salmon, professor, PCH, and former dean, recently was notified that the Rockefeller Foundation has accepted her proposal for a global forum on investment in nursing and midwifery in developing nations at the Bellagio Center in Italy. Salmon completed a residency at the center last year, which aims to promote innovation and identify impact-oriented solutions to critical global problems. The conference will be called "Empowering Women and Strengthening Health Systems in Lower Income Countries: Innovative Investment in Nursing and Midwifery Training and Practice." Salmon is currently a visiting fellow with the UW's Evans School of Public Affairs.
