How to Apply


You are eligible to apply for UW Nurse Camp if you:

  • will be 16 years of age by the first day of Nurse Camp (July 18, 2016) - there are no exceptions to this requirement
  • will have completed your sophomore or junior year of high school by Summer 2016 (freshmen and seniors are not eligible)
  • demonstrate an interest in nursing

While UW Nurse Camp is geared towards serving applicants who come from a disadvantaged background (economic, geographic, education), are underrepresented in nursing or are the first in their family to go to college, all are welcome and encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

If you meet the above requirements, download and submit the following forms no later than April 15, 2016:

  • UW Nurse Camp 2016 Application form
  • Your current high school transcript (ask your counselor how to get yours)
  • A completed recommendation form from a science teacher, academic advisor, employer, volunteer supervisor or school nurse; someone who is a mentor to you and who knows your goals and has had a direct influence on you wanting to become a nurse
  • E-mail the completed UW Nurse Camp application form as an attachment to
  • Mail hard copies of all application materials to:

If Accepted to the Program

All UW Nurse Camp registration materials must be received by the UW School of Nursing by Friday, June 3, 2016.  If ALL materials are not submitted by this date, applicants will lose their placement in UW Nurse Camp and replaced by applicants on the waitlist.  You must provide:

  • proof of immunizations
  • health insurance
  • copy of ID card (if permanent resident)
  • additional admissions forms
